Forelle. These pretty pears are named after the German word for trout, because they have colorful skin covered with little red speckles. They're a bite-sized pear, perfect for snacks and lunchboxes. Their smooth texture and spicy cinnamon taste also pairs well with cheese. The Forelle pear is green and yellow with hints of pink. They originated in Germany and are now heavily grown in Oregon and Washington. This particular pear is high in fiber and potassium, which can aid in healthy digestion and the regulation of blood sugar levels.
